New-generation Fountaine Pajot
FP44, FP48 & FP55
Fountaine Pajot has launched a fresh series of catamarans that signals a shift in design thinking and technology — comfortable living, smart layouts and hybrid-electric propulsion. Three of the key models in this wave are the 13.26 m FP44 (shown at Cannes), and her larger sisters which are coming soon: the 14.43m FP48, and the 16.98 m FP55.
Each of these is available with a hybrid/electric option and configured for serious cruising with family or charter in mind.
FP44 – the new 44-footer

The FP44 is the next step up from the entry-level 41 from the new generation and stands out for its ‘inside-outside’ design and renewable-energy credentials. At 13.26 m length and 7.44 m beam, it provides generous volume for its size.
Key features:
- Twin helm / dual manoeuvring station: the deck layout retains Fountaine Pajot’s familiar helm and sail control dual station, positioned so the helmsman remains in direct contact with both cockpit and flylounge.
- The sail-management station just forward of the helm gives clear visibility of the rig and simplifies trimming and sail handling.
- The inside–outside connection: a fully opening saloon-cockpit interface (large sliding door) blurs boundaries between inside and outside. The aft cockpit merges with the internal living space when needed.
- Customisable forward cabin in the owner’s hull: the Maestro version offers an owner’s suite in the port hull which can be configured as multi-use (desk, baby-cabin or workshop).
- Solar power: The FP44 has up to 2,000 W of peak integrated solar panels on the coachroof and optionally on the forward platform, giving more autonomy at anchor.
- Blue-water capable: The hull design features an extended chine above the waterline for volume without drag, giving about 10% less drag than previous models.
The new FP44 brings big-boat space in a compact package with updated propulsion options and a layout that oiptimises living and sailing.
FP48 – next size up
The FP48 pushes the same design envelope one step further for sailors wanting more room and luxury. At 14.43 m (≈47.4 ft) with 7.9 m beam, she offers an optimised layout and enhanced comfort.

Highlights:
- Raised helm station: Positioned so you retain sight lines across cockpit and saloon, enabling effective sail handling even with limited crew.
- Large sliding door between saloon and cockpit (3 m wide) opening onto one seamless living space.
- Owner’s full-suite: On the port side of the boat, the entire hull can be dedicated to the owner with a bonus room configurable as walk-in wardrobe, office or storage.
- Solar / hybrid ready: The model features up to 2,300 W solar panels integrated into the roof, paired with the hybrid/electric ODSea+ option.
- Outside lounging spaces: The front deck features optional loungers, the rooftop includes sunbeds and multiple relaxation zones.
For those who want an owner-driven catamaran that still retains crew-friendly layout and high comfort, the FP48 hits the sweet spot.
FP55 – luxury and scale
For a step towards full-scale owner luxury, the FP55 delivers. At nearly 17 m length overall and 8.8 m beam, it is the first flybridge cruising catamaran in the new Fountaine Pajot sailing range, with full hybrid/electric propulsion and large solar capacity.

Key features include:
- Flybridge with helm station: This offers 360-degree views, dedicated manoeuvring from height and full social zone – unusual in this size class.
- An option for twin identical owner’s suites: One in each hull, an exceptional offering for guest/owner flexibility.
- Solar capacity: The FP55 quotes up to 6,300 W of integrated solar power (enabling air-conditioning and systems at anchor without generator).
- Hybrid electric ODSea+ propulsion: Twin 50 kW electric motors, 38 kWh battery park and hydrogeneration.
- Forward-cockpit door: A direct access door to the forward cockpit for a fluid flow and optimised indoor-outdoor living.
In short, the FP55 is about uncompromised comfort, luxury and autonomy for global cruising.
Shared themes
Across all three models the shared themes are clear:
- Dedicated sail-management stations make these boats genuinely manageable by small crews or couples.
- Inside-outside integration so living at anchor and underway feels like one continuous space.
- Customisable layouts especially in the owner’s section, reflecting the need for flexibility (office, workshop, extended family, charter).
- Hybrid-electric propulsion and large solar panel arrays: Fountaine Pajot’s “Smart Electric”/ODSea+ system.
- Blue-water capability combined with comfort and performance: refined hulls, volume and layout plus sustainable systems.
Summary
Fountaine Pajot’s new FP44, FP48 and FP55 mark a clear evolution in their line: more liveable space, smarter layouts, cleaner propulsion and better integration of indoor-outdoor living. Whether you’re looking for a 44-footer that punches above its size, a 48 offering full-suite luxury, or a 55-footer with flybridge and top-tier solar/hybrid systems, there’s something here.
